Introducing our latest addition.... SH Midnite Magic 1997 Black Arabian Stallion

Update June 2008 Magic has lived with us for almost 2 years now and we love him more then we could imagine. We really don't need a stallion though. We have considered selling him to an Arab farm as a breeding stallion because have had interest in him as such. But we also realize there are nicer stallions out there so we have decided to geld him and keep him as a riding horse. I mean if he is this wonderful as a stallion, can you imagine how spectacular he will be as a gelding?!?! We do have our reservations of gelding a horse at his age but we are just going to go for it. I will take him down to UT and have it done in a sterile enviroment and hope he recovers normally. We will wait until it cools off more before having it done. I suppose if he evens acts like a stallion after that well at least he can't get anyone pregnant. Currently he is pastured with a mare & foal so he has wonderful social skills anyways. Now he can live with the entire herd and be one of the gang after he recovers.

I surely didn't 'need' another horse and in fact was not even looking to add another one. I just happened to be looking at black arabian stallions at stud just kind of playing with the idea of breeding a couple of my mares. Then I saw Magic's ad and I fell head over heels in love with his picture. Imagine that.. falling for a picture. However it was just a crazy idea to even consider buying a stallion and to beat it all he was in Minnesota which was 1200 miles away. Where would I put a stallion and how would I get one half way across the country? So I just emailed for kicks to get other pictures and I just fell in love even more with an additional picture. So I talked with Magic's owners for several months trying to make up my mind. I figured if I waited that long then surely he would sell and it would be out of my hands. Imagine my surprise when after 3 months he didn't sell. It was like it was meant to be. So I made the final arrangements to get him. He would get on a transport from MN to TN with a professional hauler. He was picked up on Friday and suppose to be delivered Sat or Sun. But as luck would have it the hauler had truck trouble and he got held up in KY for a couple of days. I was just going crazy waiting on this boy. I had never bought a horse sight unseen and was still very weary about the idea. So FINALLY he arrived on Tuesday and as soon as I looked into the trailer I knew that I had not made a mistake. In fact I was very, very glad that I had gone with my gut instinct and bought him. He is everything I imagined and MORE!!! He is not only breathtakingly beautiful but he has a wonderful temperament to boot. He is extremely well mannered and affectionate. I can't wait to 2008 when his first foal crop in TN will arrive. We plan on using him to produce some fancy large hunter ponies. He has wonderful movement and conformation for the hunter ring. He also happens to be the perfect size for what we need. He is 'small' compared to many Arabians but actually perfect for producing really fancy ponies. Check back often for lots of new pictures. He is so beautiful to see that I am sure he will be photographed a lot!!
