"Pie"

April 28 2003  -  March 11 2007

Pie was our "Momma Dog", our Matriarch...she nursed several puppies that weren't even hers. She took over Rinna's litter at 4 weeks because Rinna didn't take
care of them. She nursed my Whippet puppies when
her singleton was born. Her job in life was to mother everyone and everything. She was the sweetest and kindest Dane I have ever met. I think she was born mature and loving. She babysat my kids, she watched over all the puppies, and she kept everyone in  line.
Everyone that met Pie loved her because of her wonderful personality. Her death has been a great shock to all of us. The house just isn't the same anymore without the matriarch.
RIP my baby girl

Read about her story
"Butterfly"

Butterfly has been a part of our family for only 4 years. In those 4 years she has taught us so much about horses. She is the reason that Sydney started riding and riding well. We also learned that having a disability does not change what makes a person/animal. Butterfly was sent to the meat dealer aka slaughter house interim because she had lost one of her eyes. What her previous owners saw as a hinderous we saw as just another hurdle to overcome. You just didn't stand on her blind side so she knew where you were at all times. Otherwise Butterfly was just like any other horse. She was also the best babysitter for children you could ever ask for in a pony. She taught Sydney so much about riding and jumping. She also taught many other kids about riding. I could put any child on her back and know they would be taken care of by Butterfly. The smaller they were the slower Butterfly would move. She was a once in a lifetime pony. She was a great teacher and we loved her very much.
She will never be forgotten.
RIP Butterfly .. we deeply miss you

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Pie was in the vet clinic on March 2, 2007 for bloodwork and everything was great. Her weight was normal and she appeared to be in excellent health. Within a few days though her weight started dropping. It wasn't unusual for her to go off her food and lose weight. We left for a show the next Wed March 7 and luckily I took Pie with me. I didn't know it would be the last few days I would ever spend with her but as I look back I thank God I had those few days to say goodbye. I knew as the weekend went on that something was wrong. I guess deep down I knew it was very, very bad.
When we got back in town on Sunday Mar 11,  we drove straight to the our vet. We did bloodwork and it was normal. We did x-rays and we could see fluid in the abdomen so decided to do an exploratory surgery right away. What I saw when the vet opened her up was not what I ever expected. All you could see was a splenetic tumor that engulfed her entire abdomen. I was in shock. How could a tumor grow that large, that fast and not show symptoms sooner. Maybe there were signs but my Pie was as stoic as they come. She would never have wanted to worry me so except for the weight loss no one ever knew. The tumor weighed almost 12 pounds once removed. There wasn't a dry eye in the surgery. Everyone that was helping knew and loved Pie. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make but I elected to let her go peacefully with dignity, we never woke her up from surgery.
The week before she was perfectly normal. She was running around the yard doing what she always did.. chasing birds away. She was jumping the fence into the pasture to harass our goats like she loved to do. I do find peace in the fact that she went from living a normal life to death. I would have never wanted her to suffer. She was much to dignified to leave us that way.

There will never be another Pie. She taught me so much and she was the beginning of my love affair with Great Danes and dog showing. She was a great teacher... the best! Now she is waiting for me at the rainbow bridge with her 2 babies that passed before her.

Goodbye sweet girl. Everyone will always love and remember you!!
Otis aka Fozzi
August 26, 2005 - March 4, 2007
Owned and loved by Cindi and Jason

Otis was from Pie's first litter. We called him Fozzi and he was a big, goofy, funny puppy. He kept us laughing with his antics. He was also very sweet and loving like all Pie's babies. We only had the priviledge of knowing Fozzi for the first 9 weeks of his life.
After that Fozzi became Otis and was owned and loved by Cindi and Jason for the rest of his short life. The above picture was Otis graduating from obedience class. I recieved this picture and just laughed. How cute did he look with his little graduating cap on his head?!? I know Otis had the best life that any dog could ever dream of with Jason and Cindi. I know he taught them about loving Great Danes because he was such a wonderful example of the breed. He was a constant companion for them and their best friend. It is wonderful Danes like Otis that are the best representative of the breed. I hope someday when the pain eases they will be able to be owned by another Great Dane.

RIP Otis
I am glad that you were there to welcome your mom over to the other side.  May you both romp free and healthy. Until we meet again ....

"Bunny"
May 1, 2007 - January 8, 2008

We are sorry to announce that Bunny is no longer with us. We lost her to a tragic accident this week. We are all devastated and can't believe she is gone so soon in her life when she should be here with us. We miss her playful, fun loving attitude. She was the sweetest of all of the Cresteds and never met a stranger. She helped my niece get over the death of her puppy. She might have been young but she touched a lot of people. I guess her purpose on this earth had been filled and God needed her more. I am sure she is bouncing around Heaven bringing smiles to all that come in contact with her. She is a very special soul and we are lost without her.

Until we meet again ...
We love you Bunny!!
